Grand Haven Musical Fountain Audio Fund Raising Project – “A Sound Investment”
The Grand Haven Musical Fountain Committee has kicked off a fund raising campaign for a new sound system for the iconic Grand Haven Musical Fountain.
The campaign goal is to raise $150,000 to replace the current, 25 year-old sound system and renovate the riverfront buildings that house the current system, improve overall sound quality and fidelity and ideally reduce the sound volume required to reach the almost ½ mile wide audience on the opposite riverbank!
The Grand Haven Musical Fountain has been entertaining audiences nightly from May through September each year on the Grand Haven riverfront for over 50 years free of charge. Audiences have grown to hundreds during weekdays to sometimes thousands for newly developed themed shows such as Disney, Frozen and Pixar.
Over the past six years, the fountain infrastructure has been upgraded with new plumbing, new control systems, LED lighting, new control and choreography software and new “Helix” and “Wave” water features. Additionally, eight “themed’ shows have been produced since 2014 and the music playlist updated significantly. The last major infrastructure component needing updating is the very dated sound system.
